SAN JOSE, Costa Rica - An enormous crocodile attacked and devoured a Costa Rican tourist after the man dived into a river to free a stuck fishing line, officials said on Saturday. Carlos Salas of the Costa Rican Red Cross said Denis Chacon, 24, was killed on Friday by an 18-foot (6 metre) crocodile in the Tivives river on the Pacific coast of the Central American country, where he had gone fishing with some friends.

People tried to help him but every time they got close the crocodile went mad and they had to run for their lives, Salas said. (Reuter)
